Small-Group Therapeutic Horsemanship Lessons

Therapeutic horsemanship lessons are offered at the barn for individuals with identified needs ages three to adulthood. Groups of two or three participate in equine-assisted activities on the ground and in the saddle to learn skills that improve emotional and physical well-being. Sessions are an hour in length and are developed to meet the specific needs of each group.

Special Education Class Visits

Palmetto Equestrian partners with local special education teachers to offer class therapeutic horsemanship opportunities for students to improve physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skills; as well as, build work skills through volunteerism.

Group Team-Building Training Sessions

Palmetto Equestrian offers group training sessions for local clubs, teams, and businesses through horsemanship activities to develop unity by improving self-awareness, theory of mind, and conflict management. 

Traveling Therapy Pet Sessions

Palmetto Equestrian offers on-site therapeutic services to local special education classes and nursing/retirement homes with the support of our miniature horses. Sessions are tailored to the needs of the group and include petting and grooming opportunities.
